The Radio Equipment Directive 2014/53/EU (RED) is a new Directive which replaced the Radio and Telecommunications Terminal Equipment Directive (R&TTE Directive) 1999/5/EC on 13th June 2016 ,with a one year transition period.
There are a many differences in the new RED that will need to be examined.
The RED also brings with it a number of changes not just for manufacturers, but for all other entities in the supply chain wishing to place products on the market with a radio interface (such as Radio, Bluetooth or WiFi).
