Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU)

ETSI EN 300 328 V2.1.1 has now been published

 

ETSI EN 300 328 V2.1.1 “Wideband transmission systems; Data transmission equipment operating in the 2,4 GHz ISM band and using wide band modulation techniques; Harmonised Standard covering the essential requirements of article 3.2 of Directive 2014/53/EU” has now been published.

This is the first published version of this standard covering Directive 2014/53/EU (Radio Equipment)

Available free of charge from ETSI:  ETSI EN 300 328 V2.1.1

It is not yet published in the OJEU but the proposed national transposition dates are:

Date of latest announcement of this EN (doa): 28 February 2017

Date of latest publication of new National Standard or endorsement of this EN (dop/e): 31 August 2017

 

Major changes introduced in this version:

  • Inclusion of Receiver Blocking as a new requirement.
  • Inclusion of an alternative test method for Power Spectral Density.
  • Modifications required for alignment with the Directive 2014/53/EU [i.1].
  • Reduction of minimum number for hopping frequencies for non-adaptive FHSS equipment.

Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU)
There is a new publications in the OJEU of standards harmonised under the Radio Equipment Directive:
• 13th January 2017 2017/C 011/01 21 standards added
This brings the total number of standards harmonised under the RED to 47
(compared to over 200 standards harmonised under the R&TTE Directive).

This list now includes:
EN 300 328 V2.1.1 “Wideband transmission systems; Data transmission equipment operating in the 2,4 GHz ISM band and using wide band modulation techniques; Harmonised Standard covering the essential requirements of article 3.2 of Directive 2014/53/EU”

The work continues – onwards and upwards.

Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU) Update

Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU)

There is a new publications in the OJEU of standards harmonised under the Radio Equipment Directive:

*         14th October  2016  2016/C 381/01  4 standards added

This brings the total number of standards harmonised under the RED to 12 (compared to 217 standards harmonised under the R&TTE Directive).

ETSI is still very busy updating standards, but there is a long way to go.

New list of harmonised standards published for the Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU)

[12th August 2016] A new list of harmonised standards has been published for the Radio Equipment Directive (2014/53/EU):

Still a very small list (only 6 standards). Two new standards have been added since the last list was published on 8th July:

EN 301 025 V2.1.1
“VHF radiotelephone equipment for general communications and associated equipment for Class ‘D’ Digital Selective Calling (DSC); Harmonised Standard covering the essential requirements of articles 3.2 and 3.3(g) of the Directive 2014/53/EU”

EN 303 203 V2.1.1
“Short Range Devices (SRD); Medical Body Area Network Systems (MBANSs) operating in the 2 483,5 MHz to 2 500 MHz range; Harmonised Standard covering the essential requirements of article 3.2 of the Directive 2014/53/EU”

ETSI Guide for multi-radio and combined radio and non-radio equipment published

ETSI EG 203 367 V1.1.1 (2016-06) “Guide to the application of harmonised standards covering articles 3.1b and 3.2 of the Directive 2014/53/EU (RED) to multi-radio and combined radio and non-radio equipment” has been published.
