Background
CISPR document 65A/922/CDV (IEC 61326 Ed 3) has been distributed to National Committees for comments with closing date 15/11/2019. If adopted without amendments, IEC 61326-1: 2019 Includes the following significant technical changes with respect to IEC 61326-1: 2013.
Changes
- Emissions: Group and classes now apply as laid out in CISPR 11:2015/AMD 1:2016/AMD2:2019. For CLASS B EQUIPMENT with input current up to 16 A, IEC 61000-3-2 and IEC 61000-3-3 apply. For higher input currents up to 75 A per phase IEC 61000-3-12 and IEC 61000-3-11 apply as before
- Electrostatic Discharge: No Significant changes
- Electromagnetic field: Now requires 3V/m from 1.4GHz to 6GHz for basic and industrial environments. Originally this was 1V/m from 2GHz to 2.7GHz. This also considers battery operated devices as in Annex A
- Voltage Dips: No longer required for controlled environments when applied to AC power (including protective earth)
- Power frequency magnetic field: No Significant changes
- Burst: Optional 5KHz or 100KHz
- Surge No Significant changes
- Conducted RF No Significant changes
- Instructions for use (NEW) The manufacturer shall give information that emissions, which exceed the levels required by this standard, can occur when equipment is connected to a test object.
Update DOC without testing?
No!
New requirement for Radiated Immunity above 1GHz.
Previous tests would have been done at 1V/m for 2GHz to 2.7GHz. Requirement has changed to 3V/M from 1.4GHz to 6GHz. Manufacturers should either consider retesting to the new level or carry out a risk assessment.
